#HUPoll: Are You Feeling It? Trailer For The Movie “KAREN” Starring Taryn Manning Drops
Back in October, it was revealed that “Orange Is The New Black” actress Taryn Manning would be starring in the thriller “KAREN.”
As we previously reported, the BET original film directed by Coke Daniels is aptly based on the real-life tales of a “Karen” — a racist, bigoted, entitled white woman, in this case, from the South, who terrorizes her new African-American and pro-Black Lives Matter neighbors, Assata and Malik. Manning’s character, “Karen White,” believes races should stick to their “own kind,” especially when it relates to her beloved neighborhood. Being so, she is set out to get rid of the new kids on the block, by any means necessary; however, they too refuse to “go down” without a fight.
Taryn previously spoke with TMZ and shared that she embraced the role because she’s sick of the behavior of the so-called Karens. She added that she’s hopeful the movie, and her role, can help put an end to it. Social media users were pretty excited to hear that the well-respected actress was starting in the film, and now they can see if it will live up to its hype as TMZ has shared the first look at the highly anticipated movie.
The film also includes superstar actor Cory Hardrict, Duane Finley, Dawn Halfkenny, Jasmine Burke and Gregory Alan Williams. The news site notes that the film will come out in September.
