We took a trip back to the 1970’s as Hollywood Unlocked was at the premiere for “Dolemite Is My Name.”
Eddie Murphy is back on the big screen this time portraying the life of the legendary Rudy Ray Moore.
This film follows the life of Moore who had a background in music, comedy, and film. With the ups and downs that he experienced in his life, he was able to come out on top with persona as Dolemite making it big in a movie.
It’s been years since fans have seen Murphy in a role like this and he smashed it being able to tell a real story while making people laugh like he always does.
Other stars alongside Eddie that were in this film were Keegan-Michael Key, Mike Epps, Craig Robinson, Tituss Burgess, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Kodi Smit-Mcphee, Luenell, and Wesley Snipes, Snoop Dogg and more.
While on the carpet we spoke with Murphy who shares his reason behind his drive to get this story out to the world.
“The way he took the bull by the horns. His story is about beliving in yourself. You don’t have to be a genious, you don’t have to be the best looking and you don’t have to have all the tools, but the most important ingredient is beleiving in yourself.”
