The investigation identified outbreaks in four major hotels, including high-end establishments like the Venetian and Mirage, with incidents occurring over the past five months. According to the Daily Mail, bed bugs in Las Vegas hotels have become an increasingly common complaint among visitors. For instance, Pete Rob reported that after suffering bed bug bites at the Horseshoe Hotel and Casino, he was offered a room change. The health department has actively responded to public reports, launching investigations into the affected hotels.
One notable case involved the Venetian, where a guest reported bed bugs. In response to the complaint, hotel staff moved the guest to a different suite and laundered their clothes, while pest control confirmed the infestation and treated the room. Similarly, at The Mirage, a guest’s complaint about bed bug bites led to the hotel confirming the infestation and refunding their stay. Inspection reports from other hotels like Encore and Excalibur revealed bed bug findings, leading to immediate treatment with insecticides.

The Nevada Resort Association has emphasized that these incidents are rare, attributing them to the high visitor turnover in Las Vegas, which increases the risk of bed bug introductions. The association assured that hotels take prompt and effective action to address and prevent infestations in compliance with health and safety standards. Despite these assurances, guests have expressed frustration on social media over their experiences. Reports range from sightings at various hotels, including a notable complaint from a guest at the Paris Vegas Hotel to videos of bed bugs at Circus Circus.
Over the past two years, bed bug reports have emerged from seven Las Vegas hotels, highlighting a growing concern. These hotels, including Caesar’s Palace and the MGM Grand, are taking steps to address and prevent further outbreaks. The situation underscores the ongoing challenge of managing bed bug infestations in a city that welcomes millions of visitors annually.
