A Michigan man was arrested after he was caught on camera using an Elmo toy to sexually please himself during an inspection.

Home inspector Kevin Wayne VanLuven, 59, was assigned to check an outlet at a home in Oxford Township on March 12 when a couple asked to have an inspection before selling the home. VanLuven entered the 22-year-old woman’s nursery, unaware that there was a camera in the room, and started pleasuring himself with the doll. The device alerted the woman that motion was detected in the room and she started recording the disturbing incident.
After he finished pleasuring himself with the doll, VanLuven placed it back in its original location. The homeowner contacted police and, during questioning, VanLuven claims he did nothing but moved the toy so he could inspect an outlet.

When he was told that a camera was in the nursery, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said he made “incriminating statements” and apologized for the incident. He was arrested Wednesday and later released on a $2500 bond under the condition that he has no contact with the couple and he is not allowed to visit any residences that he doesn’t own. Additionally, he was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
He is currently charged with aggravated indecent exposure and is expected to appear in court on April 19.
