Although various artists were not in attendance at the 63rd Grammys Awards due to boycotting the ceremony altogether and the coronavirus pandemic, their peers made history with their wins tonight.

Beyonce earned her 28th win at the Grammys tonight and became the most-decorated female artist in the show’s history. In her speech, she says, “Thank you, guys. As an artist, I believe it’s my job and all of our jobs to reflect the times, I wanted to uplift and encourage all of the Black kings and queens who inspire me and inspire the whole world … I can’t believe this happened, it’s such a magical night.” Blue Ivy also became the second-youngest winner in Grammys history and Beyonce acknowledged her daughter’s achievement during her speech. “I know my daughter is watching, two daughters and my son are watching, Blue, congratulations you won a Grammy tonight. I’m so proud. I love you so much, my rock.” she said.

Megan Thee Stallion and Nas won their first-ever Grammy award in the Rap category and Tiffany Haddish made history winning her first Grammy for her comedic album, ‘Black Mitzvah’, and is the second Black woman in history to win the award for ‘Best Comedic Album.’
