Hillary Clinton Warns Trump Might ‘Steal His Way To Victory’
During the third night of the Democratic National Convention, Hillary Clinton on Wednesday repeatedly invoked her 2016 election loss while urging Americans to vote. While speaking to viewers, she also warned that President Donald Trump could possibly “sneak or steal his way” to a second term in office. Clinton then asked for “overwhelming” turnout at the polls so this won’t happen.

“For four years, people have said to me, ‘I didn’t realize how dangerous he was.’ ‘I wish I could go back and do it over.’ Or worst, ‘I should have voted,”’ Clinton said. “Well, this can’t be another woulda coulda shoulda election. Don’t forget,” she added, “Joe and Kamala can win by 3 million votes and still lose. Take it from me. So we need numbers overwhelming, so Trump can’t sneak or steal his way to victory.”
Earlier in her speech, Clinton said “I wish Donald Trump had been a better president.” However, despite those feelings, she made it clear that the 2020 election is not just about “getting one man” out of the White House but “it will be a vote for job creation, emergency relief for small businesses and hardworking people, for parents struggling to balance their child’s education and their safety, for health care workers fighting COVID-19 with no help from the White House, for law enforcement that serves and respects communities of color and for justice for African-Americans like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, killed by police officers.”
That same night, Biden’s running mate Kamala Harris accepted her historic VP nomination: “[My mother] probably could have never imagined that I would be standing before you now and speaking these words: I accept your nomination for vice president of the United States of America.”
