26-year-old Clayton Dillard III was one of the two people killed in the mass shooting over the weekend. His heartbroken father broke down in tears later that Sunday while speaking to reporters at the crime scene. He begged to see his son’s body, which had remained at the crime scene under a tarp in the 90-degree heat for at least 18 hours as authorities investigated, news station WPLG reported.

“You know what happened? My son is laying here,” said the dead man’s grieving father, Clayton Dillard, at the scene Sunday.
“I need to hold him. I need to hold him! You killed the wrong kids!” the dad said. He was later seen embracing the victim’s grandmother.

On Monday, the heartbroken father interrupted a news confrence to share a message to his son’s killer:

Police are asking anyone information on this shooting to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. ‪https://bit.ly/3c5FBFQ‬
