Many around the world are still in shock over the tragic loss of lives following a deadly plane crash in Nepal.
As we previously reported, seventy-two people – four crew members and 68 passengers – were on board the ATR 72 plane operated by Nepal’s Yeti Airlines when it suddenly crashed. It was said that 53 of the passengers and all four crew members were Nepali. There were fifteen foreign nationals on the plane as well: five were Indian, four were Russian and two were Korean. The rest were individual citizens of Australia, Argentina, France, and Ireland, CNN noted.
The French Civil Aviation Safety agency said Monday that it will help with the investigation of the horrific crash, adding that four French investigators will be on site by Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case to establish the circumstances of the crash, the agency said. As that is happening, a harrowing video is circulating online; purportedly showing the last moments inside the cabin before the Nepal plane crash. The news site reports that the video was a Facebook Live by a passenger, Sonu Jaiswal. The footage begins with a plane window with the wing seen outside as the aircraft turns sharply to the left. Not knowing he was in danger, Jaiswal turns the video to himself, smiling as people are heard casually talking and laughing in the background.
Seconds later, the video starts to shake with the camera losing focus. Loud noises are heard while a flash of light appears on the screen. Moments later, the scene erupts in fire and all that could be heard are flames.

As of this Tuesday, CNN reports that all but one body was recovered from the crash. This marks the country’s deadliest air disaster in more than 30 years.
In 1992, 167 people who were aboard a flight was killed when a Pakistan International Airlines plane plowed into a hill as it tried to land in Kathmandu. Since Sunday’s tragedy, Nepal declared a day of national mourning on Monday and set up a panel to investigate the disaster and suggest measures to avoid such tragedies in future.
