More bad news for Harvey Weinstein. The disgraced Hollywood mogul has been indicted once again by a grand jury in New York.
As of now, the specifics of this latest indictment remain sealed, and prosecutors have indicated that they will not provide further details until Weinstein is able to appear in court. This situation arose as Weinstein was recently transferred from Rikers Island to Bellevue Hospital for emergency heart surgery after experiencing chest pains, which prevented the 72-year-old from attending the court session on Thursday.

This indictment follows a tumultuous period for Weinstein, particularly after the reversal of his previous rape conviction. As previously reported, in 2020, jurors in Manhattan found him guilty on charges of rape; however, in April of this year, the New York Court of Appeals overturned that conviction. The court determined that Weinstein did not receive a fair trial, citing the improper admission of testimony from accusers with whom he was not formally charged.
Despite that, in July, Manhattan prosecutors announced that they were continuing their investigation into additional violent sexual assault allegations against Weinstein, as more women came forward to testify against the co-founder of Miramax. Throughout these proceedings, Weinstein has consistently denied any allegations of non-consensual sexual encounters.
