Halle Bailey Takes Legal Action to Protect Herself and Son Halo
As previously reported, Halle Bailey has been granted a temporary restraining order against DDG, who she claims has been violent toward her and fears of him potentially abducting their one-year-old.
Legal docs obtained by PEOPLE, details how Halle is taking all possible legal steps to keep herself and her child safe, starting with a formal request for sole legal and physical custody.
Halle Bailey Seeks Sole Custody, Supervised Visits Only for DDG
In the filing, Halle requests a judge to suspend his visitation with his son and instead only be allowed supervised visits with Halo—limited to once a week, for six hours, and under the supervision of a professional company while Halo is in Los Angeles.
But it doesn’t stop there. She’s also asking the court to prevent DDG from taking their son outside of Los Angeles County or moving him without written consent – a move to “prevent abduction.”
If granted permission to travel with Halo, Halle wants DDG to provide his full itinerary, copies of round-trip airline tickets, contact info, and an open return flight ticket for her if Halo isn’t brought back.
Halle claims that the streamer has a history of not only abusing her, but also allegedly taking away or hiding Halo from her; in addition to not cooperating with her in parenting.
Judge Issues Temporary Orders Until June Hearing
As of now, the judge has ordered DDG to stay away from both Halle and their 17-month-old son, Halo. He’s also been banned from possessing any weapons. These restrictions remain in effect until the scheduled court hearing on June 6, when the judge may extend the protective order for up to five more years.
This request doesn’t necessarily suggest Halle wants DDG completely out of Halo’s life—but she does want to make sure there are serious boundaries in place to protect their child from being exposed to more trauma.
Halle Bailey Opens Up About the Abuse in Legal Filing
In her own words, Halle shared her emotional reasoning behind the legal action.
“I realize that there is no placating Darryl. I cannot allow this abuse any longer. I cannot keep living like this,” she said in the filing. “I never know when he is going to demand our son to be in his mother’s care and whether I will be subjected to his threats and abuse.”
DDG has hinted at possibly responding to these allegations soon. Although he did not release an official statement he tweeted, “I’m chillin btw.. i have no worries streaming later on, no days off!”
