Halle Bailey’s relationship with YouTube star and rapper DDG is the real deal — at least according to what the “Do It” hitmaker has shared in her latest interview. The 22-year-old is gracing the September/October issue of Essence alongside her sister Chloe Bailey. as they engaged in an in-depth conversation with the publication on all things concerning their careers, aspirations, and, of course, their love life.
It’s no secret that Halle has been seeing DDG for a while now, and while fans aren’t in doubt that the two are undeniably smitten with one another, her interview with Essence is the first time that the Georgia native has revealed she’s in love with her beau. “I grew up being on YouTube and would always see the young Black creators and was constantly inspired by them. He was one of them,” Halle shared.

“I completely forgot about him. But then I saw that he was dropping music, and I really gravitated toward this one song. Coincidentally he messaged me — and the rest is history.” When Halle was later asked whether she would consider herself to be in love with DDG, she replied, “Yes. For sure I am.”
News of Halle’s romance with DDG first came about in January when the adorable couple was seen attending Usher’s Las Vegas residency together. Two months later, DDG shared an endearing social media post dedicated to Halle who was celebrating her 22nd birthday in March.
He included a series of photos of him and Halle enjoying each other’s company while the caption to the post read,”Happy Birthday to the beautifulest, the flyest, the sweetest ❤️ love you forever 🥺💎 @hallebailey.” Ever since then, the pair has been inseparable from one another, having regularly appeared on each other’s Instagram Stories to give fans a sneak peek into their love life, which has seen them enjoy a handful of dates together.

Further in the interview, Halle said that when it comes to the relationships she shares with people, she’s often considered as the “protector” because if any of her friends or loved ones have a problem with someone, she isn’t afraid to insert herself in the situation to let it be known they’ll also have a problem with her.
“If you’ve got a problem with so-and-so, then we’ve got a problem. I’m a fire sign … If I love you and somebody crosses you, it’s over. That’s been my stance since I was young,” she added
