As we previously reported, Young Thug, whose name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams, was arrested at his home in Buckhead, Atlanta on Monday. He was was among 28 people indicted in Georgia on conspiracy to violate the state’s RICO act and street gang charges, according to jail records.
While fellow rapper Gunna was also hit with those charges, but he had not yet been arrested. However, according to a new update by WSBTV reporter, Michael Seiden, Gunna surrendered to authorities in Fulton county to face those charges.
The news site reports that the conspiracy charge dates back to 2013 and the gang charge to 2018. The indictment reportedly states that Young Thug is allegedly one of three founders of the Young Slime Life, which is “a criminal street gang that started in late 2012” in Atlanta. Officials also said that YSL is affiliated with the national Bloods gang. Charges include “Preserving, protecting and enhancing the reputation, power and territory of the enterprise through acts of racketeering activity including murder, assault and threats of violence.”
Brian Steel, Young Thug’s lawyer told local outlets that, “Mr. Williams committed no crime whatsoever” and that he would “fight till his last drop of blood to clear him.” Young Thug made his first court appearance on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.

As for Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, and aspiring rapper Christian Eppinger, who was already in jail, was accused of shooting an Atlanta police officer six times in February. Gunna, who is accused of conspiracy to violate the state’s RICO act, was put in police custody after turning himself.
Other alleged members of YSL have been accused of violent crimes like murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as well as armed robbery.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said at a press conference that the streets are safer with Young Thug and his associates off of them.
“It does not matter what your notoriety is, what your fame is. If you come to Fulton County, Georgia and you commit crimes and certainly if those crimes are in furtherance of a street gang then you are going to become a target and a focus of this district attorney’s office,” she stated.
A rep for Gunna has not yet provided a statement after he surrender to police on these charges. We will continue to keep you updated as this story develops.
