Gunman Opens Fire Inside Bronx NYPD Precinct

This Sunday morning, a man armed with a gun stormed into a Bronx precinct station and opened fire on cops.

Surveillance video obtained by The Post captured the shocking moment. Apparently, the alleged shooter, Robert Williams, entered the 41st Precinct house on Longwood Avenue around 8 a.m and began shooting towards an officer walking up to the desk. That cop quickly goes out of frame as he ducks for cover. Seconds later, more officers come from behind and return fire on Williams.

The gunman quickly slides his gun and surrenders. Multiple officers then rush up to Williams and arrest him. Lt. Jose Gautreaux was hit by gunfire in the arm while Willams also got hurt but the extent of his injuries are currently unknown.

As of right now, the motive behind the ambush is unclear. However, he is also suspected of ambushing another neighborhood cop sitting in a marked department van on Saturday night, firing a round that nearly struck that officer’s carotid artery, sources have said.
