Gucci Mane Sued In South Carolina Club Shooting That Left Two Dead
Alongside rapper Foogiano, real name Kwame Brown, Gucci Mane, real name Radric Delantic Davis, has been sued in a South Carolina club shooting that left two people dead. Both rappers are named in a wrongful death lawsuit filed on behalf of a 23-year-old woman, Mykala Bell, who was fatally shot on July 5 at a concert being held at Lavish Lounge in Greenville.
A representative for Bell’s estate filed the suit in Greenville County last week. Paperwork details what happened that evening, citing that the mother of two was standing near the stage, where Foogiano was performing, when gunfire broke out during the early hours of July 5. In addition to the death of Bell, a security guard, Clarence Sterling Johnson, 51, was also killed, with eight others injured.

Police have since charged Jarquez Kezavion Cooper, 22, in the shooting, which is said to be gang-related. In Bell’s lawsuit, it’s alleged that Foogiano and his entourage were not patted down at entry, permitting them to enter the club with “deadly weapons.” While the suit doesn’t say whether Gucci mane was present at the time of the shooting, it states that he’s “believed to be” a promoter linked to the performance. Lastly, Cooper and the club’s operating owner, owner and nearly a dozen other “owners, managers, contractors, security companies, etc.” were accused of negligence for failing to provide adequate surveillance and security, and “permitting criminal activity,” among other allegations.
