Grimes Reveals Her And Elon Musk’s Son Calls Her Claire, ‘Not Mom’
Grimes recently sat down with Vogue to reveal that her and Elon Musk’s son X Æ A-Xii, does not refer to her as mom, and instead calls her by her real name, Claire. She puts this down to the 16-month-old being very perceptive.
“Being a mother feels weird to say for some reason. I don’t, like, identify with that word which is also really weird because X, he says ‘Claire’ but he doesn’t say, like, ‘mama,’” she said.
Grimes puts this down to her son knowing that she doesn’t relate with the word mother.
“I’m like, how are you?.. Like, maybe he can like, sense my distaste for the word mother,” she said, “Which I don’t even know why I have a distaste for ’cause I like, respect it, I just, I don’t, I can’t identify with it weirdly.”

However, being a mom has been a positive experience for her as she compares it to a rebirth for herself.
“I think having a baby was a big kind of like rebirth for me, like artistically. Like, it just like, I don’t know,” she added.
