Grieving Parents To Sue After Police Drag Them From Dying Six-Year-Old’s Bedside

Dr. Rashid Abbasi and his wife, former doctor Aliya Abbasi, are two grieving parents in Northern England who are planning to sue after police dragged them from their dying six-year-old daughter Zainab’s bedside. As medics insisted there was nothing more that could be done, the parents disagreed, stating medics could offer further treatment to keep their daughter alive. Following the dispute, police were called to the room.

Bodycam footage released shows the emotional moment Abbasi was torn away from his terminally ill daughter’s room. Officers are seen strapping his legs together and wheeling him out, all while calling him an “animal.” Meanwhile, his wife was grabbed from behind, pulled from the bedside, falling backwards onto the floor, screaming.

Subsequent to the confrontation, Abbasi reveals he was later told that he’d suffered a heart attack and underwent a heart procedure in the following days. He’s since begun the process to sue the police for wrongful arrest. Abbasi’s daughter suffered from respiratory problems and a rare genetic illness called Niemann-Pick disease, which meant she was likely to die during childhood.
