‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Ellen Pompeo Believes The Show Should Be Over: “I’ve been trying to focus on convincing everybody that it should end.”

After starring on “Grey’s Anatomy” as Dr. Meredith Grey over the last 16 years, Ellen Pompeo reveals it’s time for the popular show to call it a quits.

Pompeo says she’s been having no luck on convincing everyone that the show should be over. The show started in 2005 and still has fans excited to tune in to each episode. “ I feel like I’m the super naive one who keeps saying, ‘But what’s the story going to be, what story are we going to tell?’” she said. “And everyone’s like, ‘Who cares, Ellen? It makes a gazillion dollars.’”

Looks like it’s not all about the money for her, but she did express to the variety that the show could come to an end after this year. “We don’t know when the show is really ending yet,” she told Variety at the time. “But the truth is, this year could be it.”

She presently owns a business called Betr Remedies, which strives to give accessible medicines to neighborhoods who historically struggle to access them.

But that doesn’t really mean that she will give up acting completely once Grey’s finishes, as she’d like to continue performing on TV for a streaming platform. She has ruled out one element of acting, however.

“Probably not movies,” she admitted. “I don’t really have a movie career, and – I think I’ve said this before – our business is quite separate.”
