Grand Jury Hearing Evidence in Celeste Rivas Death Is an Indicting Panel

Sources familiar with the proceedings say the grand jury currently hearing witness testimony in the Celeste Rivas murder case will ultimately vote on whether to issue indictments.

Multiple sources told TMZ that authorities involved in the case, including prosecutor, believe d4vd was involved in Rivas’ death. Prosecutors are reportedly presenting evidence and witness testimony to support that position.

Grand jury proceedings are conducted in secret. The subject of the investigation does not have the right to present a defense or cross-examine witnesses during this phase. As a result, the process is controlled entirely by prosecutors, who decide which witnesses are called and what evidence is presented.

Because of these limitations, grand juries often return indictments when requested by prosecutors, though the final decision rests with the jurors themselves.

Testimony From d4vd’s Manager Presented to the Grand Jury

TMZ previously reported that earlier this month, d4vd’s day-to-day manager, testified before the grand jury for several days.

According to TMZ, a reporter overheard Morgenroth speaking with his attorney in the hallway outside the courtroom. During that conversation, Morgenroth said prosecutor Silverman was “very pushy” in questioning why he did not contact police.

Morgenroth reportedly stated that he responded by saying it was not his responsibility to call law enforcement and that his role was to ensure d4vd’s tour continued as scheduled.

The substance of Morgenroth’s testimony has not been publicly disclosed, as grand jury proceedings remain sealed by law.

No Immediate Indictment Expected as Proceedings Continue

Sources also indicated there has been discussion that the grand jury may continue hearing witnesses into February. If that occurs, an indictment would not be issued immediately.

Grand jury timelines can vary depending on the number of witnesses, the complexity of the evidence, and scheduling. There is currently no public timeline for when jurors will be asked to vote on potential charges.

At this time, no indictment has been announced, and d4vd has not been formally charged in the death of Celeste Rivas.

Any further developments will depend on the outcome of the grand jury’s deliberations.
