It was lights, cameras, and a whole bunch of action at the 65th Grammy Awards on Sunday. Hollywood Unlocked was in attendance for the big night and we got to talk to some of the incredible stars and nominees while on the red carpet.

We caught up with singer Coco Jones and also Dani Leigh who shared that she’s working on an album. She told us that fans can expect “greatness” as she “put her all into this, so it’s going to be dope.” While on the carpet, we even caught up with reality star-turned-artist Blac Chyna who shared that she’s also been in the studio working on new music. Chyna let us know that fans can expect a vibe that’s “flowy, organic” with a “little bit of Rock in there.”

Big Freedia, a first-time Grammy nominee for her credits on Beyoncé’s ‘Break My Soul’ & ‘Energy,” expressed how grateful she was to be at the Grammys this year and to be a part of Bey’s album, Renaissance, which brought in 9 nominations, respectively.

As nominee Matt B graced the carpet in royal attire with his stunning wife, rapper Fivio Foreign stopped by to speak with us and gave his honest opinion about women in the music industry often being compared to each other instead of being respected for their individual work. Specifically speaking on the controversy surrounding Rihanna and Beyoncé following comments made by Stephen A. Smith, Fivio said: “that’s what they’re going to try to do because they want that drama but they’re both queens and they both doing their things. So let them win.”

Now, we asked Amber Rose the same question, and let’s just say she didn’t hold back. “Well, I think men decide that. I think men, they’re patriarchal…I feel like when it comes to women, it’s always ‘Cardi B and Nicki or Beyonce and Rihanna. It’s just like just let everyone be great and let’s just support them and love them for what they do.”

During her interview, we switched gears to talk about Rihanna taking the stage at the upcoming Super Bowl. As many can recall, Amber Rose jokingly said she would resort to eating a** like to snag tickets. But thankfully her good friend and HU CEO Jason Lee said she doesn’t have to eat the groceries as he would help her out with securing some seats to the game/ show.

Things got more fun towards the end of the night as we spoke with the legendary Smokey Robinson who shared what was his process of coming up with the hilarious yet freaky song titles for his new album, “Gasms.”

Meanwhile Dave East shared his take on the TikTok era and both Rico Love & Gospel great Kirk Franklin gave an important message as to how artists in the hip-hop culture can improve on spreading more positivity when it comes to music.
