Governor Greg Abbot Bans Vaccine Mandates In Texas!

Texas might be the place to go if you are trying to avoid getting the COVID-19 vaccine!

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday issued an executive order that will ban COVID-19 vaccine mandates. The order bans any entity in Texas, including private businesses from requiring employees or customers to be vaccinated.

“No entity in Texas can compel receipt of a Covid-19 vaccine by any individual, including an employee or a consumer, who objects to such vaccination for any reason of personal conscience, based on a religious belief, or for medical reasons, including prior recovery from Covid-19,” the order reads. “I hereby suspend all relevant statutes to the extent necessary to enforce this prohibition.”

However, the order does acknowledges that “vaccines are strongly encouraged for those eligible to receive one, but must always be voluntary for Texans.”

“The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective, and our best defense against the virus, but should remain voluntary and never forced,” Abbott said in a statement.

The order will most likely get challenged in court.
States like California are taking a completely different approach by forcing residents to be vaccinated if they want to enter public spaces like malls, theaters and gyms.
