Gov. Cuomo Threatens Legal Action Against Trump If Forced To ‘Reopen’ New York
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has once again challenged President Donald Trump, now threatening legal action if the federal government forces him to reopen the state.
On Monday (Apr 13), Trump said that he had “total authority” over when New York, California, Oregon and Washington can reopen their states. He affirmed, “They can’t do anything without the approval of the president of the United States.”

Fed up with his comments, Cuomo said on Tuesday (Apr 14), “We would have had King George Washington, and we didn’t have King George Washington. And we don’t have King Trump; we have President Trump. If he ordered me to reopen in a way that would endanger the public health of the people of my state, I wouldn’t do it. We would have a constitutional challenge between the states and the federal government, and that would go into the courts. That would be the worst possible thing he could do at this moment, would be to act dictatorial.”
He adds, “Keep the politics out of it. I have 10,000 deaths in my state. This virus didn’t kill Democrats or Republicans; it killed Americans, and it killed New Yorkers. And I’m not going to go down a political road.”

After Cuomo’s statements, Trump took to Twitter to criticize his requests for help from the federal government.
Cuomo’s been calling daily, even hourly, begging for everything, most of which should have been the state’s responsibility, such as new hospitals, beds, ventilators, etc. I got it all done for him, and everyone else, and now he seems to want Independence! That won’t happen!
