After announcing his visit to the White House this morning, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said he and President Donald Trump had a decent conversation about coronavirus testing.

According to the Daily Mail, Cuomo and Trump had a meeting for less than 30 minutes to discuss testing and relief funding for states who are facing a potential economic crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Shortly after their meeting, Cuomo spoke with MSBNC host Nicolle Wallace via telephone to discuss the outcome.

‘We had a functional and effective conversation. The meeting went well and I think it was productive.’

Cuomo also stated that New York no longer needed the USNS Comfort and President Trump should feel free to send the ship elsewhere. The meeting primarily focused on providing more tests for states in need as reported by the New York governor during his press briefing early Tuesday morning:

‘Testing. What does testing mean and how can we do it? And how can the federal government work in partnership with the states? Because this is all new and it’s a situation that’s very difficult. And it’s a situation however you do it there’s going to be a blame game afterward. I heard the president in his briefing the other day. He’s right. This is one of those thankless tasks
