GlokkNine Pleads Guilty to Identity Theft From $10,000 PPP Loan, Evidence Found In DMS

The Feds are reeling in on all the PPP and EDD scammers that made careers over the pandemic by scamming funds meant for struggling Americans.

The latest to get caught up is rapper ‘9lokkNine,” who pleaded guilty to identity theft and weapons charges on Tuesday, stemming from a PPP scam.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Smith, 21, fraudulently applied for and received $10,000 in PPP loans that were meant to aid struggling businesses in the pandemic. The Orange County sheriffs department had wiretapped his Instagram and were able to see that he sent the loan application to an acquaintance.

In addition, the rapper pleaded guilty to possession of an unregistered firearm, aggravated identity theft and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

In regards to the aggravated identity theft charge, Smith took the name, social security number and address of a person to apply for a PPP loan and open a fraudulent bank account. He received at least $10,000.

The rapper’s sentencing is scheduled for October.
