Gisele Bündchen is opening up about her divorce with Tom Brady in an upcoming interview.
In a preview teaser for her interview with Robin Roberts on “IMPACT x Nightline: Gisele Bündchen: Climbing the Mountain,” the supermodel got emotional when asked about the end of the relationship. “You didn’t think the marriage would end,” Roberts asks her. “No one goes into a marriage thinking it’s going to end, but it does. You said it was the death of a dream. How are you?”
Bündchen went on to take a deep breath and began saying, “Well, when you say…” then she turns away from the camera and says “Sorry guys, I didn’t know, can I have a little moment?” While holding her face. It was back in 2006 when Brady and Bündchen’s paths first crossed. At the time, Brady was fresh off a breakup with actress Bridget Moynahan, with whom he shares a son. Meanwhile, Bündchen was at the height of her modeling career, having graced countless magazine covers and walked the runways for top fashion designers.
Their first meeting was set up by a mutual friend, who thought the two would hit it off. And hit it off they did. The chemistry between Brady and Bündchen was instant, and they quickly began dating. Despite their busy schedules and the constant media attention, their relationship blossomed.
In 2009, Brady and Bündchen tied the knot in a private ceremony in Santa Monica, California. The couple exchanged vows in front of close friends and family, with Bündchen looking stunning in a custom-made designer gown.
Since then, Brady and Bündchen have welcomed two children together and have built a beautiful life as a family.
Their relationship has not been without its challenges, however. In 2015, Brady faced a highly publicized scandal known as “Deflategate,” in which he was accused of tampering with footballs during a playoff game. Throughout it all, Bündchen stood by his side, offering unwavering support.
