Ghislaine Maxwell’s lawyers made a court filing on Wednesday, pleading that the judge gives their client a lighter sentence ahead of her upcoming court date after being found guilty of five federal charges, including sex trafficking of a minor and three counts of conspiracy.
Ahead of her June 28 sentencing, the British socialite is said to have received numerous death threats from a fellow cellmate. Court documents obtained by Radar Online reveal how the unnamed person had said they were offered money to kill Ghislaine for an undisclosed amount of money, bragged about the offer to other cellmates, and explored ways in which they would plan to murder her, including the act of strangulation.
Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of child sex trafficking over 5 months ago. She was trafficking the children to Clients.

The cellmate is also believed to have said that if they were to get caught for the highly rewarding killing, there would be “an additional 20 years’ incarceration.” With her sentencing quickly approaching later this month, Ghislaine’s legal team is going above and beyond to ensure she’s not given an unfavorable sentence as she currently faces up to 65 years in prison.
“One of the female inmates in Ms Maxwell’s housing unit told at least three other inmates that she had been offered money to murder Ms Maxwell and that she planned to strangle her in her sleep,” the court document read. “This incident reflects the brutal reality that there are numerous prison inmates who would not hesitate to kill Ms Maxwell — whether for money, fame, or simple ‘street cred.'”
Her attorneys are fighting hard despite Ghislaine’s conviction, adding that she’s not the heiress or villain that many have portrayed her to be, stressing that the British-born advisor has worked her entire life and prides herself for her strong work ethic, “and desire to do good in the world.”
In the latest documents filed by her legal team, it was added that any of Ghislaine’s wrongdoings should be blamed on her tough childhood, having had a “difficult, traumatic childhood with an overbearing, narcissistic, and demanding father,” whose name was Robert Maxwell, a Former Member of the Parliament in the UK.

Ghislaine’s team continued to stress that the real villain, in this case, was Jeffrey, who they deemed as the mastermind and the principal abuser. Furthermore, they claim he orchestrated the crimes to receive personal gratification and given that Ghislaine’s life has been difficult enough due to a very troubling childhood, she has already suffered through terrible jail conditions since her arrest in July 2020.
