That is how the Hawking out met Ms. Freeman began. Freeman is a Bronx New York teacher who not only is teaching kids the art of drama and theatre but has also taken her real-life experience and created a stage play.
when speaking with Ms. Freeman, she shared that her play, “The Miseducation of Ms. Freeman” is aimed at showing her life in the day to day world of being a teacher. One could call it a one-woman show as she plays not only one but seven of the characters.
While we are currently in the middle of a pandemic, I asked Ms. Freeman how she is able to cope with students having to do digital learning. She shared that though digital learning, she has actually been able to reach more students who are interested in the fine arts even outside of New York. Through her work, she is not only able to connect with the parents of her students, but she is also able to give light to the younger generation of kids who didn’t know that they could excel in fine arts!
