Baltimore boxing champ Gervonta Davis has his domestic violence case dropped after his child’s mother, Vanessa Posso, recants.
Gervonta Davis Domestic Violence Case Dropped After Child’s Mother Vanessa Posso Recants
On Monday (May 22), it was reported that Gervonta Davis escaped a domestic violence case with his child’s mother, Vanessa Posso, after she retracted her abuse allegations from December 2022.
The 28-year-old boxing star had been facing one count of misdemeanor battery after he was arrested on December 27 in Broward County, Florida following an incident with Posso, who alleged that Davis hit her with a “close hand type slap.” She claimed that he ultimately left an abrasion on the inside of her lip because of the alleged slap.
A day after the incident, we shared that Davis was trying to “clear his name” as he took to his Instagram with pictures of his face, bearing cuts and bruises. He also claimed that Posso had spat on him and stuck his toothbrush in poop from their daughter, Giovanna Thalia.
Davis said, “Do not let these people misguide you all on this bullsh*t. This was just yesterday, moments before me and my child mother had argument! Watching Frozen with my oldest daughter. I never put my hands on my child mother, nor my f***ing daughter. Are you f***ing crazy!! I’m not a monster. I been quiet for too long.”

Davis continued, “I don’t have media team, PR, good lawyer …spokesman nothing off that…That’s the only reason I’m doing this now! Just to clear my name! I been doing this sh*t on my own since I started this sh*t. These people done put out so much stuff aired this everywhere and have a f***ing helicopter flying over my house now as I write this because they look at this sh*t as money to them and trying to get as much money as possible.”
He continued, “They rush to my child mother offering her $50k just to press charges..like they did with my first child mother, so bad they couldn’t get her so they got a lady they claimed she was into the mess. Also a lady that known for suing people for money reason they got her! Which I have to pay $300k to and I didn’t lay a finger on her or even know what this lady looks like! They doing this for money to and also to destroy me!! I am not a monster, I have two beautiful daughters that have to grow up someday and see this bullsh*t!! They post this bullsh*t world wide before anything!”

Hours later, Posso spoke out and said, “Karma never loses an address.” Then Davis said, “This girl put sh*t on my toothbrush…and everything this hard sh*t from my daughter pamper..the one y’all saw I hit! Can’t say I did this I was f***ing locked up..I didn’t want to do this but I wanna clear my name!”
Following the incident and the back and forth on Instagram, days later, Posso took to her Instagram and recanted her abuse claims. She said, “The state of our relationship has been in a fragile space, and Gervonta and I were both at fault for the argument. While the emotions were high I made an unnecessary call to law enforcement in an intense moment while I was frantic. Gervonta did not harm me or our daughter.”

Following Posso’s retraction, law enforcement officials in the case then claimed that she decided not to press any charges against her child’s father, which ultimately led to the case being dropped on Monday morning.
Furthermore, prosecutors shared that all parties involved “agreed that the defendant had to complete an anger management course and parenting class.” And as soon as officials learned that Davis had completed his required course work, they held their end of the deal and had his case dropped.
