They were identified as Dana Simmons, principal of Banks County Elementary School, and Dylan Charles, a gym teacher who was caught on camera by Charles’ wife. The discovery prompted an internal investigation, which was carried out by an outside firm. According to the New York Post, their affair was revealed after Simmons accused Charles of gaining access to confidential school district records by bugging her office or having a close source on the school board.

Following the investigation, Charles admitted to having a years-long affair with Simmons, claiming they had sex at school and off-campus. Simmons, on the other hand, claims they had an inappropriate “friendship” and denies having a sexual relationship. Charles refuted Simmons’ claim by allegedly providing images of them kissing and having sex inside a vehicle.

Other images showed Simmons allegedly performing oral sex on Charles and a naked woman standing in a room that appeared to be Simmons’ office. Texts messages exchanged between Simmons, Charles, and his wife were also given to investigators to confirm that they were having an affair. Simmos eventually confessed to the affair but denied having sex on school property and accused Charles’ wife of making the false claim since she allegedly watched the couple having sex.

Kelsey Charles stated Simmons offered to help elevate her and her husband’s careers and accused her of manipulating them. Additionally, Simmon was accused of pressuring Kelsey to allow her to have sex with her husband. “There is conclusive evidence of a sexual relationship between Dr. Simmons and Mr. Charles,” staff from internal investigators John Grant & Dr. Paul Shaw wrote. “Pictures, Video, Admissions by both parties, Verification by Kelsey Charles,” the report said.

The two educators reported resigned from their positions and told school district officials that no crime was taking place on campus.

“Upon receiving allegations involving the matter at hand, the District immediately hired independent investigators to conduct an investigation and provide a report of findings. The investigative report in question was reviewed by law enforcement for evidence of criminal activity and none was found. The educators involved are no longer teaching Banks County students. The safety and well-being of our students is always our first priority. The investigation into this event did not yield any indication that student safety or security was compromised.”
