George Floyd Jury Will NOT Hear About Six Incidents Derek Chauvin Used Force on Other Suspects
The trial for the murder of George Floyd is still underway and it has been learned that the jurors overlooking the trial will not be made aware of former officer Derek Chauvin’s violent past with other individuals.
USA Today reports that there have been at least Seventeen complaints filed with Minneapolis police about Derek Chauvin. There were sic complaints by people who Chauvin arrested claiming that he USD excessive force, however, the jury won’t be notified. This could substantially affect their verdict.
The judge often makes these decisions to prevent a jury from making a decision based on actions from other incidents. The judge also limited portions of Floyd’s criminal history from being revealed to the jury after the defense.
As we reported, Chauvin’s defense team claimed that Floyd, used a counterfeit $20 bill to buy cigarettes and that he was under the influence of drugs.
Chauvin has been charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter for causing Floyd’s death.
