Gas Prices Plummet To As Low As 99 Cents Over Coronavirus
While residents across the nation continue to practice social distancing and remain home amid the coronavirus, gas stations and the oil industry is taking a huge hit; with some cities offering gallons as low as 99 cents.
In addition to having no place to go to burn gas, fears of catching germs at gas pumps, food kiosks and more are now heightened more than ever, causing folks to stay home, despite companies giving workers extra hours to clean and sanitize the high-touch surfaces.

Additionally, a station in Kentucky has dropped to 99 cents a gallon, with a state average of $1.90. However, an employee tells Fox News, if you’re just learning of the great deal, don’t bother coming down, as they’ve already sold out of fuel and don’t know when pumps will be back open again. It’s reported that the nationwide average a gallon is currently at $2.20, and is predicted to drop to $1.49. Oklahoma, Mississippi, Tennessee and Kansas trail closely behind Kentucky.
Furthermore, Fox adds, “a combination increased supply in Saudi Arabia and Russia with falling demand from efforts to stop the spread of the coronavirus are driving the trend.”
