Garcelle Beauvais Breaks Down Into Tears As She Reacts To Poor Treatment Of Haitian Migrants
During Wednesday’s episode of The Real, Garcelle Beauvais used her platform to shed light on the latest border crisis with Haitian immigrants.
While weighing in on the big topic, the talk show who is also Haitian, got emotional while explaining that migrants are fleeing due to poor conditions: “To see my people being treated this way… they are fleeing because of the conditions in Haiti. Because of the earthquakes, this disasters, because of the political unrest. And this how they’re being treated.”
She added,
“they’re being treated like they are criminals. I feel like I’m watching a slave movie. These patrol officers are on horseback and they are whipping people, innocent people who just want to be treated fairly and get food.
The actress and reality star went on to say, “we can’t seem to get a break. And it breaks my heart. And I am ashamed that this is how Americans are treating other immigrants.”
President Biden also confirmed that the DHS is investigating the scenes of patrol agents intimidating Haitian migrants while using reins as whips. Biden said the photos were “horrific and horrible” and is fully committed to a Department of Homeland Security investigation into the matter, White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters.
