G-Eazy & Juicy J Named In Lawsuit Over ‘No Limit’ Sample

It looks like Bay Area’s G-Eazy and Juicy J, of Memphis’ Three 6 Mafia, are under fire, now facing a lawsuit, for sampling without approval on Eazy’s hit track “No Limit.”

Reportedly, fellow Memphis-based artists DJ Squeeky and Gaylon Love claim the rights to “Looking 4 Da Chewin”,  a 1993 Southern hip-hop classic, used, without consent, on Eazy’s 2017 hit, which was cleared a sample of Three 6 Mafia’s “Slob On My Knob.”

Squeeky and Love are suing for copyright infringement, and are also requesting a percentage of the profits from Eazy’s original track, featuring Cardi B and A$AP Rocky, plus, its remix, adding Juicy J, French Montana and Belly.

Furthermore, Squeeky and Love’s lawyer Alcide Honore says his clients are only suing Eazy and Juicy, minus the featured artists, since the track belongs to Eazy, and Juicy — a proud Memphis native — should’ve known better.

Additionally, this marks the second lawsuit Juicy’s been slapped with this week. He and his counterpart DJ Paul were separately hit earlier this week for other sample disputes.

As DJ Paul faces one over Trippie Redd‘s song “Death,” Juicy is facing a suit from a list of Memphis-based artists, claiming he committed “over 150 independent acs of copyright infringement from more than 100 individual sound recordings.”
