After spending almost four months in Pakistan, Onijah Robinson has boarded a flight back to New York City. She was transported to Karachi International Airport after being admitted to a psychiatric ward.

As previously reported, Robinson flew to Pakistan on October 11, 2024, to marry 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, a young man she met online. However, Memon ended their relationship after his family rejected the relationship and moved from his home. Refusing to leave the country, Robinson stayed outside of his apartment building for 30 hours before she was taken to a local shelter and later admitted to the psychiatric ward at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center.
After she went viral, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori intervened, extended her expired visa, and arranged for her to return to the U.S. Still, Robinson refused to cooperate, making it difficult for officials to process her departure, according to DAWN. Karachi police also sought assistance from the federal government in handling Robinson’s case and even considered deportation. On Friday night, Robinson was escorted from the psychiatric hospital to the airport, where she boarded a Dubai-bound flight at 10:40 local time.
South Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Asad Raza said in a statement that the U.S. government provided her plane ticket. Although her time in Pakistan has ended, she became an international viral sensation as some parodies and fans wanted to know what would happen next with Robinson.
