Frank Ocean is not returning for weekend two of Coachella, his rep has revealed. According to TMZ, due to the singer’s recent injury – having sustained two fractured and a sprain in his leg – Frank has made the conscious decision not to return to the stage this upcoming weekend. He’s since been replaced by the rock band Blink-182.

“After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1, Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity,” his rep confirmed. “On doctor’s advice, Frank is not able to perform weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.”

In a separate statement, Frank told the publication that despite the circumstances, he was happy to have gotten to perform at Coachella last week and hopes to reunite with his fans soon. During his performance at the festival on Sunday, he revealed to fans that he does have a new album on the way, so people might not have to wait too long to see him back on stage.

Fans were understandably disappointed when they heard the news. Frank is known for his incredible live performances, and Coachella is one of the biggest stages in the world. The fact that he wouldn’t be able to play was a huge blow to those who had been looking forward to his comeback.

The impact of the injury was felt beyond just Frank’s performance, however. Coachella is a huge festival, with many artists playing across multiple stages over the course of the weekend. Frank’s cancellation meant that there would be a hole in the lineup that would be difficult to fill. It also meant that fans who had bought tickets specifically to see him would be left disappointed.

This isn’t the first time that Frank has had to cancel a performance due to injury. In 2013, he pulled out of the first night of the OVO Fest in Toronto due to vocal problems. In 2017, he cancelled several festival appearances, including Sasquatch!, Hangout Fest, and Primavera Sound, citing production delays as the reason.

Fans have become somewhat accustomed to Frank’s cancellations, but that doesn’t make them any less disappointing. It’s clear that he takes his live performances seriously, and that he’s willing to cancel if he doesn’t feel like he’s able to give his best.

One of the reasons that Frank’s cancellation was so disappointing is that fans have been eagerly anticipating his new album for years. He’s been relatively quiet since the release of his critically acclaimed album “Blonde” in 2016, and there have been few details about what he’s been working on.

There have been rumors that a new album is imminent, with Frank himself teasing that he’s been working on new music. However, there’s been no official announcement aside from him saying he has new music on the way, and fans are left to speculate when the project will actually be released.
