Teens Douse Classmate With Cleaner While Yelling Homophobic Slurs

Four Georgia teens have been arrested after allegedly locking their classmate in a closet before dousing him with cleaner and yelling homophobic slurs in Loganville.

Four students taunt their classmate for unknown reasons and used homophobic slurs

The four suspects, ages 14-17, allegedly forced a 15-year-old ninth-grader “into a bathroom closet for a prolonged period of time while being sprayed or doused with liquid cleaning products” while screaming homophobic slurs as reported by CBS46. However, the outlet did note that it was unclear if the victim identified with the LGBTQIA community.

One of the suspects, 17-year-old Kelsey Juliana Hayes, was the only one publically identified after her mugshot was released to the public. She and her four accomplices multiple charges which include felony and misdemeanor false imprisonment, battery, and reckless conduct.

The school releases a statement after all four suspects are arrested

Loganville High School released a statement in reference to the incident and said an investigation is currently underway.

“Student safety is a top priority and school officials are investigating the incident and working with law enforcement officials to ensure the district’s code of conduct and legal charges are appropriately enforced,”

The Loganville Police Department said in a statement that two separate incidents involving the victim took place on March 23 and March 31 at the school’s theatre room.

“Our School Resource Officers initiated an investigation of this incident and during the course of their inquiries, discovered there were two separate incidents on March 23, 2022 and March 31, 2022, which have  resulted in the following charges being filed in this case”

“The Loganville Police Department and particularly our School Resource Officers take cases and allegations of this nature with the utmost seriousness. We do not tolerate bullying behavior in any shape, form or fashion, for any reason, and I believe the charges made in this case reflect that stance.”

Hayes will be charged as an adult due to her age and she faces a felony charge for false imprisonment.
