Four Killed in Argument Over $1,400 Stimulus Check
A family of four was killed following a dispute over a stimulus check.
According to reports, Malik Halfacre, from Indiana was arrested after allegedly shooting the mother of his child and killing four of her family members, including her 7-year-old daughter, following a domestic dispute over the most recent round of $1,400 stimulus checks issued by the federal government COVID-19 relief package.

The Indianapolis man allegedly confronted the mother of their infant, believing she owed him half of the $1,400 given to her to help her through the pandemic. Despite his demands for $700 of her stimulus money, Jeanettrius Moore did not back down. Sadly, the domestic dispute allegedly ended in tragedy. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 253 North Randolph Street just after 9:35 p.m. to find a woman shot in the upper back. Inside, officers discovered the bodies of 7-year-old Eve Moore, 23-year-old Daquan Moore, 35-year-old Anthony Johnson and 44-year-old Tomeeka Brown. All four were pronounced dead from gunshot wounds.

Malik Halfacre, allegedly fled the scene in a 2012 Chevrolet Impala and took his six-month-old daughter Malia Halfacre, with him. Detectives later located the infant around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday safe and unharmed. Halfacre was arrested the same day for his alleged role in the murders following an hours-long standoff at a residence on the 6200 block of Eastridge Drive.
