Four Florida Men Arrested For Theft Of Over $740,000 In Church Donations

Four Florida men have been arrested for theft after stealing over $740,000 in church donations. Two others are wanted for their involvement as well.

It’s reported that the four residents — identified as: 33-year-old Ionut Raducan, 28-year-old Marius Dumitru, 34-year-old Marius Dumitru, and 32-year-old Panait Dumitru — are currently facing charges of grand theft, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit racketeering. The others are identified as 45-year-old Catalin Trandafir, and 39-year-old Simona Trandafir.

The “low-tech” thieves reportedly took over 1,500 checks from 636 churches, 355 which were Florida-based. It’s said the men stationed themselves in Orlando, bit traveled in/out of the state, stealing from up to 85 churches in a single day, and stealing from some more than once. The money was reportedly used to buy clothes and cars for the men, and funds were also wired back to their home country, Romania.
