Former Yankee Says COVID-19 Vaccine Caused Worst Season Of Career
Former Yankee player Didi Gregorius is blaming the Coronavirus vaccine for the worst season of his career, stemming from an elbow injury allegedly caused by the jab.
Gregorius spoke to the Philadelphia Inquirer about how the vaccine caused him to develop pseudogout, which has led to swelling and a type of arthritis in his elbow.
“Some people say it’s from the vaccine. I will say it’s likely from that, too,” Gregorius said. “But when you say that, everyone looks at you like you’re stupid because the vaccine is not supposed to be like that or give you that reaction.”
Gregorius is playing at record lows (.217) and on-base percentage (.275), and his OPS (.650). He has only appeared in 89 games due to his elbow injury.
However, in response to the claims, Paul Offit, who is a vaccine expert at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, claims that the vaccine cannot cause pseudogout, but can only flare up a current diagnosis.
“It has nothing to do with the vaccine,” he claimed. It is possible, however, that a vaccine could cause a flare of pseudogout if Gregorius already had it and didn’t know about it. However, the flare would only last a few days. A flare lasting months “doesn’t make any sense.”
