Former UH Football Player Senselessly Murdered In Houston

22-year-old former UH Cougars and Spring High School football player, Ka’Darian Smith was found shot to death at a high-rise apartment in Midtown Houston.

According to police, Smith Made a phone call to his friends telling them that he had been shot in his apartment. They quickly arrived to his apartment 30 minutes later and moved him downstairs while waiting for help to arrive, however, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Spring High School’s football team posted a tribute on Twitter.

“We are heartbroken to learn of the senseless killing of Lion Alum Ka’Darian Smith last night. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of KD’s family and friends in this most difficult time. RIP 4 We love you and will miss you!”

Officials report that the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. After reviewing surveillance footage, officers found that there was no sign of forced entry to his apartment and that the suspect is most likely someone the victim knew.

A motive is currently unknown.
