Former NBA Star Stephen Jackson Slams Ja Morant Over 2nd Gun Flashing Incident: “You A Moron”

Sports fans are not letting up on basketball player Ja Morant as many are disappointed over his latest actions. As we previously reported, once again, the Memphis Grizzlies have suspended Ja Morant from all team activities after a video showed the star guard holding a gun on Instagram Live.

During an Instagram Live session on Morant’s friend Davonte Pack’s account, the All-Star is seen flashing a handgun while driving and singing along with a rap song. The video has since been deleted. The Grizzlies announced the suspension over the weekend saying a league review is pending. “We are aware of the social media post involving Ja Morant and are in the process of gathering more information,” NBA spokesperson Mike Bass said on Sunday.

This latest situation comes just two months after the NBA suspended Morant over a similar incident. While many sports fans hoped the athlete would have learned a lesson from that situation, it looks like he didn’t. Now, many people have not only been fetching him online all over again but also giving him some tough love. The latest celebrity to weigh in on all the drama is former basketball player Stephen Jackson. In a recent Instagram Live video he said,

“Nobody can’t defend him now. You do something dumb like that twice that’s on you. I don’t feel bad for bro no more he did it to himself. Can’t feel bad for him.” Jackson went on to say, “I can’t tell him nothing. For the last that was a moron move by Ja. He got to deal with this one. Ain’t nobody coming to defend him this time. I sure ain’t. The first time it’s a mistake, second time you a moron.”

Jackson is just one of many public figures who have spoken out to criticize Ja Morant for flashing a gun carelessly again. Back in March, he was filmed at a strip club doing the same thing. Rapper Fat Joe also shared his opinion on Morant and said he needs to change his circle… and quick.

“He’s trying hard to get kicked out the NBA,” Joey Crack said. “Those guys that’s with you, they not your people, Ja. They don’t care. This is a problem we have with our community becoming famous.” He added, “If you get thrown out of the NBA, these are the same guys who are going to say, ‘Yo, he wasn’t sh*t anyway.’ Ja they are not your people,” he insisted. “Anybody pointing you in the direction of ignorance is not with you.”

While Ja Morant has not yet publicly spoken out, people are speculating if his return to the NBA will be as easy as last time. Adrian Wojnarowski said on ESPN’s Get Up, “I think Ja Morant is facing a lengthy, a significant suspension to start next season if indeed that was a firearm in his hand in that video. There’s going to be some pressure even from other teams around the NBA that this isn’t just harmful to the Memphis Grizzlies, but this is harmful on a league level. I don’t think Adam Silver is going to take this one lightly.”
