Days after President Donald Trump ordered his Department of Justice (DOJ) to prosecute his enemies “now,” former FBI Director James Comey has now been indicted on charges of making a false statement and obstruction of justice.

Donald Trump Replaces U.S. Attorney For The Eastern District Of Virginia Erik Siebert With Lindsey Halligan And Demands DOJ Prosecute Enemies ‘Now!’
Days ago, Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social demanding justice, “now.” He revealed that he ousted Erik Siebert, who was serving as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. He also shared that he replaced Siebert with his handpick of Lindsey Halligan.
Halligan is a White House aide and Trump’s former personal defense attorney. She reportedly has no prosecutorial experience, but has now been appointed to lead the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.
On September 20, he wrote, “JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!” Seconds later, he wrote a note to Attorney General of the United States, Pam Bondi. He said:
“Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, ‘same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about [James] Comey, Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, Letitia [James]??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done.’
Then we almost put in a Democrat supported U.S. Attorney, in Virginia, with a really bad Republican past. A Woke RINO, who was never going to do his job. That’s why two of the worst Dem Senators PUSHED him so hard. He even lied to the media and said he quit, and that we had no case. No, I fired him, and there is a GREAT CASE, and many lawyers, and legal pundits, say so.
Lindsey Halligan is a really good lawyer, and likes you, a lot. We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility. They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW.! President DJT.”
In another tweet sent hours later, Trump continued to speak about Pam Bondi. He said:
“Pam Bondi is doing a GREAT job as Attorney General of the United States. She is very careful, very smart, loves our Country, but needs a tough prosecutor in the Eastern District of Virginia, like my recommendation, Lindsey Halligan, to get things moving. What we don’t need is a Democrat Endorsed ‘Republican.’ I will be nominating Lindsey Halligan to be the United States Attorney in this very important part of our Great Country. She will be Fair, Smart, and will provide, desperately needed, JUSTICE FOR ALL!”
While congratulating Halligan, Trump shared:
“It is my honor to appoint Lindsey Halligan, who has been serving as Special Assistant to the President at the White House, as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Lindsey is a tough, smart, and loyal attorney, who has worked with me for a long time, including in the winning fight against the Weaponization of our Justice System by Crooked Joe Biden and the Radical Left Democrats, which she witnessed firsthand when she stood up for my rights during the Unconstitutional and UnAmerican raid on my home, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida.

U.S. Attorney For The Eastern District Of Virginia Erik Siebert Reportedly Expressed Doubts Internally About Indicting Former FBI Director James Comey
As Trump’s tweets went live, ABC News reported about him replacing Siebert with Halligan. Sources close to the situation told them Siebert and New York Attorney General Letitia James both had concerns and doubts about coming after Comey. Siebert reportedly expressed doubts internally, allegedly resulting in his firing and replacement.
Sources claimed prosecutors warned the Department of Justice against targeting Comey and charging him with perjury and obstruction charges. Likely because prosecutors and investigators have already determined that there is insufficient evidence to charge him.
After a months-long investigation into Comey, the Department of Justice prosecutors has failed to establish any probably cause of a crime. Sources warned that the DOJ wouldn’t only fail at securing an indictment, but wouldn’t be able to convict Comey, even if they did.

Upon Halligan taking her new position, earlier this week, she immediately began preparing a request for the grand jury to indict Comey. The indictment accuses him of allegedly lying to Congress during his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2020.
Again, despite prosecutors warning both Siebert and now Halligan with coming for Comey due to no probable cause, Halligan proceeded with obtaining an indictment. Despite the lack of clear evidence and ethical concerns upon filing charges without probable cause, Halligan secured an indictment from the grand jury.
In a statement released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, it states that if convicted, Comey faces up to five years in prison. The statement notes, “Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties.”
As the indictment came through, Trump reacted on Truth Social. He wrote:
“JUSTICE IN AMERICA! One of the worst human beings this Country has ever been exposed to is James Comey, the former Corrupt Head of the FBI. Today he was indicted by a Grand Jury on two felony counts for various illegal and unlawful acts. He has been so bad for our Country, for so long, and is now at the beginning of being held responsible for his crimes against.”
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi tweeted:
“No one is above the law. Today’s indictment reflects this Department of Justice’s commitment to holding those who abuse positions of power accountable for misleading the American people. We will follow the facts in this case.”
Comey also spoke out and slammed Trump. Taking to his Instagram with a video, he said:
“My family and I have known for years there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump. But we couldn’t imagine ourselves living any other way. We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn’t either.”
Comey continued to quote his daughter, Maurene Comey. She was a former federal prosecutor in New York who helped prosecute Sean “Diddy Combs and previously worked on the prosecutions of Jeffrey Epstein an Ghislaine Maxwell. Maurene Comey was fired by the Justice Department in July. At the time, she said in a note to colleagues confirming her departure: “Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought.”
Comey continued his video and said:
“Somebody that I love dearly recently said that fear is the tool of a tyrant. And she’s right. But I’m not afraid, and I hope you’re not either. I hope instead you are engaged. You are paying attention, and you will vote like your beloved country depends upon it, which it does. My heart is broken for the Department of Justice, but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system. And I’m innocent. So, let’s have a trial. And keep the faith.”
