Florida Woman Survives Being Mauled By Dogs, Then Contracts Coronavirus In Rehab

After a Florida woman miraculously survived being mauled by a pack of dogs, she then contracted coronavirus in a rehab facility where she was recovering. On February 7, Debbie Beaulieu and her own dogs were attacked by a pack of other pups, which resulted in her being rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Beaulieu’s son-in-law, Falcon Dinis, says, “Her skull is gone completely, and her leg was pretty much eaten away. They had to shorten her leg two inches to make all of the blood vessel connections.” After numerous surgeries, during which she flatlined twice, she was taken to a rehabilitation facility, where she ended up contracting the novel virus.

However, she fought through it and after weeks of recovering, she is now COVID-19 free. Additionally, Beaulieu’s daughter, Christina Dinis shared, “She was pretty much being tossed around like a chew toy by the four dogs. She’s a tiny little woman so the fact that she’s alive is amazing.”

Currently, three of the dogs’ owners face civil citations as their animals were not licensed with the county, were left unrestrained and bit several people. Christina says, “They need to be held 100 percent responsible. Jail time, do what you got to do. But this is because of their negligence. I don’t blame any breed dog, I don’t.”
