A Florida woman has been charged with stalking after she allegedly dumped 75 “used” tampons onto her ex-boyfriend’s lawn as revenge for him dating a new woman.
The Incident
According to KFOX14, deputies from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on September 30 from a woman who reported that she and her boyfriend woke up to find a pile of red-stained tampons scattered across their front yard.
Security footage from the home reportedly showed a pickup truck driving by around 10 p.m. on September 29. A woman was seen sitting in the truck bed, waiting for traffic to clear, before dumping the tampons on the lawn. Investigators said the items appeared to be “stained red” to look like they were used.
The Suspect
The couple told authorities they believed the suspect was Gabrielle Franze, an Orange County firefighter and the ex-girlfriend of the man living at the residence. They said Franze had made social media posts about them and seemed upset about their relationship.
When questioned by police, Franze at first denied knowing where her ex lived. However, she later confessed to the act.
Franze told investigators that the prank was her mother and aunt’s idea after they learned about her breakup. According to her statement, they were visiting from out of town, and together they decided to purchase several boxes of tampons before driving to the ex-boyfriend’s home to dump them in his yard.
Franze was charged with two counts of misdemeanor stalking.
