A Florida woman was arrested after impersonating an ICE officer to kidnap her ex’s wife, authorities confirmed. According to FOX 8, the suspect, Latrance Battle,52, allegedly dressed in black and claimed to be a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent while approaching the victim at her workplace in Bay County, Florida.
Battle reportedly wore a black shirt with “ICE” printed on the front, carried a handheld radio, and even presented a sheriff’s office business card to seem more legitimate. She then instructed the victim, who is currently in the process of becoming a U.S. citizen, to come with her “for questioning. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office stated in a Facebook post that the woman was scared and “willingly went with Latrance,” unaware that she was being lured into a trap.

According to investigators, the victim tried to call her lawyer and husband, but Battle snatched her phone and threatened that she would “suffer the consequences of her husband’s actions.” That comment triggered alarm bells for the victim, especially when Battle drove to an apartment complex instead of a sheriff’s office. Once there, Battle reportedly entered one of the units. The victim took the opportunity to escape and immediately contacted her husband and law enforcement.
During the call, she described the woman, which led her husband to recognize Battle, his ex-girlfriend, against whom he had previously filed a restraining order. According to him, Battle had attacked him years ago at his workplace, and he had not had contact with her since.
