According to Yahoo! News, voters in several counties in the Sunshine State say they have been receiving threatening emails that are telling to vote for Trump or face consequences. However, the International Chairman of the Proud Boys Enrique Tarrio says the group has condemned the emails along with denying any involvement. Tarrio also said whoever sent out the emails should “be in prison for a long time.”

“No, it wasn’t us. The people (who sent the emails) used a spoofing email that pretended to be us, It is voter intimidation, no matter if it came from us or it didn’t – which it didn’t.”

Officials from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a statement that they are currently looking into the scam and said the email spoofing is used to scam victims in order to have them believe it was received from someone else. Similar emails have been sent in other states such as Arizona and Alaska.

The template of the scamming email reads, “Hi [blank] We are in possession of all your information You are currently registered as a Democrat and we know this because we have gained access into the entire voting infrastructure. You will vote for Trump on Election Day or we will come after you. Change your party affiliation to Republican to let us know you received our message and will comply. We will know which candidate you voted for. I would take this seriously if I were you.”

Voter intimidation is a federal crime and if an individual is caught, they can face up to a year in prison.
