Florida Man Rescues Dog After Wrestling It From The Jaws Of An Alligator
While enjoying a beautiful day near a swamp with his 3-month-old pup in late October, a Florida man ended up wrestling an alligator to rescue his dog from its jaws.
Newly released viral footage shows the dramatic rescue of Richard Wilbanks saving his Cavalier King Charles spaniel, named Gunner, after and baby alligator dragged the pup underwater. The clips shows Wilbanks waist-deep in a pond, struggling to free a yelping Gunner from the gator’s grasp.

After a good wrestle with the gator, Wilbanks finally manages to free his pup from the gator’s mouth. After the scary incident, Wilbanks took Gunner to the vet, where he was treated for minor injuries. Wilbanks says, “I was able to save Gunner’s life. He had one little puncture wound. My hands were just chewed up.” Wilbanks now considers the incident a “learning experience” and now knows to keep his little pup on a leash.
