Florida Man Charged After Riding Airboat Through Neighborhood & Threatening To Kill Deputies

Joseph Prohaska, a 40-year-old Florida man, has been charged after riding an airboat through his neighborhood streets and threatening to kill deputies upon being taken into custody.

The incident went down in Brevard County on New Year’s Eve around 11:30 p.m., which led to deputies responding to a call about a man riding his airboat on the streets before pulling it into a yard. Before doing so, sources say Prohaska knocked over multiple trash cans and was letting off fireworks throughout the whole incident.

When officials from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrived to the scene, they say Prohaska started the engine on his airboat and began revving the engine “to cause a disturbance and mock law enforcement.” Eventually, deputies were able to place Prohaska under arrest. Once deputies tried to take his father into custody, he began making threats against them, stating, “I will kill you if you hurt him.” Prohaska is now facing charges of disorderly conduct and making threats to a law enforcement officer.
