A Florida man learned the hard way that sharing your true inner thoughts online can lead to serious consequences.

Shannon Depararro Atkins was arrested Friday night for allegedly making “violent” threats against President Trump. According to the New York Post, authorities apprehended Atkins after receiving a tip, and the West Palm Beach man allegedly admitted to making the “violent posts,” police reported.

So what exactly did he post? According to the outlet, Atkins allegedly wrote on Facebook on January 19, a day before Trump was inaugurated for his second term, “America needs one good bullet to be saved.” Atkins also mentioned on his Facebook page that he had been banned from Elon Musk’s X. “I’ve been banned from ‘X’ because I said I hope and pray someone kills him. History is supposed to repeat itself. We haven’t had an assassination in years.” Although that sounds like a lot, apparently, that wasn’t all…

He allegedly continued to write a day later, “Bullets please. Please Jesus! Save America,” over an image of a meme calling inauguration day a “day of mourning.”

The NYP reports that the 46-year-old was arrested just before 7:30 p.m. Friday during a traffic stop in West Palm Beach. While there, police say they also allegedly found cocaine.

Atkins currently faces a drug possession charge, as well as one count of written or electronic threats to kill, do bodily injury, or conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism, which is classified as a second-degree felony, the NYP notes. He was held at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Main Detention Center.

    • Pick up the phone and call the police. You’re not going to be able to do it anonymously.

Unless there’s some other form of proof it’ll be your word against theirs so don’t hold your breath for any charges being played.

    • Hello, my name is Carly Arden. I want to thank Dr. Peter for bringing back my ex-husband. I was once a skeptic, never believing in magic spells, but a trusted co-worker convinced me to give Dr. Peter a try. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. After two divorces, my third marriage was falling apart, and I was desperate. My husband had left me again, and I didn’t know what to do. Dr. Peter’s love spell worked like a miracle—my husband came back, and we are now happier than ever. Dr. Peter helped us realize how much we love and need each other. 1. Freedom of Speech means just that. You cannot have it if you tailor speech to follow certain guidelines. Thoughts aren’t physical threats.

  2. From what I read he didn’t actually make any direct threats. Teres a difference between expressing a ‘wish’ for harm to come to someone and actually threatening to harm that person or solicit/encourage others to harm that person.

I’m not a lawyer but my guess is that he only gets convicted of the drug charges.
