Socialites, get into this wild story. A teen tried to commit suicide and her father is being held responsible for encouraging her to do it!

As Fox News reports, Gared Wayne Canales, 33 is accused of taunting and insulting his daughter by calling her “pregnant and worthless” two days before she attempted suicide, according to court records.

This all happened when the teenager simply called her father on speakerphone while her friends were hanging out with her in her room. While on the phone, he allegedly called her a “b—-, sl*t whore” and told her to go “f— yourself,” the news site quotes. As the young girl was trying to express how she felt about him, he allegedly cut her off and said, “You’re not worth it. I choose my girlfriend over you anyway, and go kill yourself.”

During the conversation, he told her again, “You kill yourself, just don’t say it.” According to the affidavit, the abuse prompted the child to grab her brother’s baseball bat and smash a photo of her and her father. Prior to that, the girl had told her father by text that she felt a desire to take her own life. While that would be concerning to most parents even despite an intense argument, Canales reportedly didn’t have any compassion. It was said that the verbal abuse prompted the young girl to slice her wrist with a knife and a piece of glass. Sadly, she also swallowed 14 Benadryl pills on April 9, the document states.

She eventually told her mother what she’d done and was immediately taken to the Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, where her stomach was pumped. Following the April incinder, a judge issued an arrest warrant on that same month on the 14th for her father who was found in Massachusetts. He was extradited just last week to Florida.

As of yesterday, Mr. Canales is currently being held in the Flagler County Jail without bond. He’s been hit with charges including one count each of felony child abuse and misdemeanor violation of probation, Fox reports.

Canales has been ordered to not have any contact with his daughter, per a restraining order issued on June 19.
