Deputies from Pinellas County responded to a call about an attempted murder at the Silver Lake Mobile Home Park in St. Petersburg and discovered the 56-year-old victim motionless with what they claimed was a hatchet “protruding from her head.” The victim was identified by investigators as Lisa Eaton, and she was taken to a neighboring hospital with serious injuries. Her family, however, stated that they intended to remove her from life support on Saturday as reported by KTLA.
Michael Doughtery, 40, was living with Eaton and her husband prior to the brutal attack because he had recently lost his job. Deputies located Doughtery 150 miles from the crime location on Thanksgiving morning and charged him with one count of attempted second-degree murder.

However, his charges have been updated after Eaton was taken off of life support by her family around 11:40 p.m. Her older sister, Donna Voye, said her sister was kow to be a caring person and found it hard to believe that someone would end her life.
“She’ll help anybody. She’ll give you anything you want. No family should ever get a call we got, telling them that their family member was brutally attacked as our little sister was,”
The family is also raising money for Eaton’s funeral expenses.
